Welcome to the Jacksonville Streets Division

What we do

The Streets Division provides overall maintenance of streets, City traffic control devices, stormwater drainage, street sweeping, and sidewalk maintenance and renovations.  The Streets Division also manages the City’s street improvement projects, mosquito control, and demolition of dilapidated City infrastructure.

Streets Superintendent

Kelly Cannon

I’m Kelly Cannon, an Air Force veteran with 24 years of service in Civil Engineering. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Management and obtained the designation of “Advanced Roads Scholar” through the North Carolina Local Technical Assistance Program at NC State. I have been with the City of Jacksonville for the past 5 years. I led 39 employees working as the Streets Superintendent. Maintaining 166 miles of City streets, 125 miles of stormwater ditch networks, over 85 miles of stormwater pipes and associated catch basins, junction boxes and outfalls. In addition, this division maintains 189 miles of sidewalk, 4900 street name and roadway regulatory signs and mosquito spraying throughout the city during the summer months.
