This week is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, and we have some of the best! These men and women work around the clock to ensure not only the safety of our Citizens, but our Officers and Firefighters as they are dispatched. They work 24/7, 365 and are always ready to answer the call. Thank you for your dedication to our Department and the Citizens of Jacksonville. We hope you have an amazing week. We are currently hiring Full and Part Time Positions.
Sgt. Smallwood, Lt. Ketchum, and Corporal Ford had the pleasure of teaching some of our local motorcyclists advanced roadway safety today. If you or someone you know is interested in taking this course, visit bikesafenc.com to find the next class and register.
Recently several members of the Jacksonville Police Department organization were promoted at the monthly Staff Meeting. Congratulation to Jacqueline Bousquet on being promoted to Telecommunicator II, Officer Caleb Yancy to Police Officer II, and Officer Robert Ford to Corporal.
Trainers Officer N. Diroma and T. Rutter
Mumble, our 2 year old Therapy Dog, has officially completed his training with Camp Mutt. He has earned his AKC Good Citizenship and Therapy Dog Certifications. This 10 month program included obedience and site visits to schools, nursing homes, hospitals, and area businesses to familiarize Mumble with different populations and environments. Thank you to his handlers, Officer Rutter and Officer DiRoma, as well as the Trainers at Camp Mutt. You can catch Mumble out and about at some of our community events. Congratulations Mumble!
MISSION BBQ has been a supporter of Public Safety Organizations. On April 15th, 2025 they donated proceeds from their Hometown Heroes Cups drive to the agency. We always appreciate support from community organizations such as Mission BBQ.
