  • Look out for communication, we send out communication through email notifications and sometimes text message to keep you informed. You can also review your application status from your profile menu at Government Jobs.

Here are some pro types to help you get noticed by the Hiring Manager:

  • Provide a Cover Letter, a good cover letter explains to the hiring manager why you applied to the position and how you think your skills will be a good fit for what you believe they are looking for in a candidate.
  • Be responsive, if it is difficult to communicate with you as an applicant, how will communication be as an employee?
  • Research, if you don't know anything about the organization you have applied, then take a trip to their website and learn as much as you can. Moreover, identify how you see yourself as an employee with the City of Jacksonville.
  • Always be ready to share your story, you never know when someone is going to call and want to learn more about you and your experiences as it relates to the position that you applied.
